There are 4 different workshops in the FESTIVAL.
Participants are divided into groups and each group has a different workshop every day.

1st WORKSHOP

OVEN MAKING​

with JANOS GASPAR and ADAM BIHARY (Hungary)

4-day workshop

Already the sixth Regio Earth stove will be made by Adam and Gaspar! They will explain each step and prepare mixtures and layers together with participants of the festival.

Janоs Gaspar

is a craftsman with over 20 years of experience in working with earth, he is skilled in most of the techniques of earth building and finishing. He is also a passionate educator, trying to pass on his knowledge and inspire others to live closer to nature.

Adam Bihari

 is an architect, founder of the Association of Environmentally Conscious Builders, and Partner of Regio Earth (for the Hungary editions), his work is geared towards building sustainably, drawing inspiration from the traditional vernacular architecture, and making sure our past knowledge is passed on and included in the contemporary way of building.

2nd WORKSHOP

ADOBE & RAMMED EARTH BENCH

with DAVIDE PEDEMONTE (Italy) and JENNY VARGAS (Colombia)

4-day workshop

We hope to be effective and make 2 adobe and 2 rammed earth benches during those 4 days.

Davide Pedemonte

is an architect, craftsmen, farmer, citizen of universe. He is specialized in earth architecture, but he also works with other natural materials.

Jenny Vargas

is an architect from Colombia, with a master in conservation and specialisation in earth architecture. She is a researcher, teacher, workshop leader and lecturer at a national and international level.

3rd WORKSHOP

JAPANESE WALLS & PLASTERS

with GERGELY PETER BARNA (Japan)

4-day workshop

This is a unique opportunity to hear about a completely different concept from European earth building – understand and learn how the Japanese are building their structures, earthquake resistant and simply beautiful.

Gergely Peter Barna

is a design researcher, doctor in design science, and expert in traditional Japanese architecture, he mixes his concerns for contemporary state-of-the-art digital surveying and manufacturing technologies with his hands-on work as a traditional plasterer and carpenter at restoration sites in Kyoto.

4th WORKSHOP

CLAY PLASTER

with ISABELLA BREDA (Italy) & Federico GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ (Argentina)

4-day workshop

If you are interested in clay plasters and decorative finishes, this is a great opportunity to learn how to decide on ingredients, textures and final appearance of your wall, respecting local design and symbols.  

Isabella Breda

is an architect, decorator, and artist specialized in interior architecture. Her projects address the interaction between art and architecture.  Her work is characterized by continuous research of expressive, tactile, and emotional language and graceful shapes.

Federico GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ

Masters in Architecture (FAUD-UNC Argentina) and Building-Engineering (UNISA Italy). Specialized in Earthen architecture and Constructive Cultures (ENSA Grenoble, France). He worked in Argentina, France, Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia. He considers himself as a hands-on artisan-architect. He is currently working on plastering and decorations techniques.
